For any museum, park, trail, or other installation featuring an educational component, thoughtful, well-planned, cohesive, and professional guidance can make a major difference in your ability to build affinity for your organization’s work. This is equally true for interpretive displays and programs, marketing and fundraising efforts, and other initiatives. We offer a range of services in different categories:
DESIGN:
Our design abilities are comprehensive. We can design layouts for interpretive, promotional, and spacial needs alike. Our past work includes a range of exhibit panels, brochures and maps, and online content. We also perform comprehensive exhibit design, as well as facilities planning and construction consultation. We also produce highly professional architectural, technical, and interpretive illustrations.

PROGRAM PLANNING:
We’ll work with you and your organization to plan for whatever programming best suits the needs of your organization and its audience. We’ve got experience planning narrated and face-to-face tour programs, auditorium and ampitheatre presentations, K-12 education programs, living history and science demonstrations, and small and large events such as live music and reenactments.
MARKETING:
We can design individual advertising and promotional materials and full campaigns. However, whenever possible, we also recommend an integrated approach to market development. This means ensuring that we are thoroughly familiar with your organization, its current audiences, and potential markets, and ensuring your programs and products, your promotional materials, your branding, and your everyday management and operating practices are all in alignment with a plan that serves both your mission and your market’s needs simultaneously.
STRATEGIC AND ADMINISTRATIVE PLANNING:
Because we believe cohesion and integration across departments and activities can be important for an organization’s success, we go out of our way to facilitate high-quality planning. We take a proactive and welcoming approach to gathering input from various stakeholders and ensuring buy-in wherever it is needed. We apply our years of experience in our work to ensure the solutions available to you meet your needs. With our informed guidance, your organization will benefit from documents that you can actually implement and use to build support as you move forward.
These can include:
- Strategic plans
- Management plans
- Interpretive plans
- Fundraising plans and materials
- Collections management documents
- Policy manuals and documents
- Bylaws and operating practices changes
- Employee and volunteer handbooks
- Best practices and standards manuals
RESEARCH, DOCUMENTATION & WRITING:
Museums, parks, and history organizations deal with highly technical content, and public expectations often demand a higher level of authenticity and accuracy than other entertainment venues. Good research and clear, friendly, accessible, and concise writing are important components to serving a mission and an audience. We’re versed and experienced at archival research, gathering oral histories, and photographic and drawn documentation, and are trained to work with professionals in archaeological research. Our writing abilities make us equally adept at writing detailed research documents and concise content for public consumption.
COLLECTIONS CARE:
With training and experience in archival work, cataloging, and hands-on preservation and conservation of buildings, photographs, documents, and objects, we can audit your organization’s practices, make recommendations for improvement, and assist in processes like collection intake, accessionment, and deaccessionment. We have specialized expertise in working with historic machinery and industrial and architectural materials, but are also comfortable working with a wide range of objects, documents, and artifacts.
