Since 2005, Dave Vago and cohort have been consulting with, and providing guidance to, museums, parks, and organizations looking to make advancements in programming and direction. Our current base of operations is in Lansing, Michigan, but we work with clients all over the country from Pennsylvania to California. A portfolio of our work is available here. A labor of love
Dave Vago, our founder, has a great passion for making the past accessible to all kinds of people. He has worked in design, planning, marketing, and administration since 2001, but even in high school, he was a volunteer docent at a heritage streetcar operation.
Dave grew up in Philadelphia. He holds a BS in Architecture and a Certificate in American Studies from the University of Maryland, and a MS in Industrial Archaeology from Michigan Tech. He has worked in positions and projects all over the country. His resume is available here.
Collaborators
Kelly Timmerman holds bachelors degrees in historic preservation and music from the University of Mary Washington, and a masters in Park and Recreation Management from Slippery Rock University. She is a design specialist in community development, working with the owners of historic commercial and residential rental properties to find business, design, and preservation solutions to development challenges.
Terry Hackney is the founder and owner of Lens Creek Studios, an interpretive design and exhibit fabrication firm in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania. He has worked in museum and facilities management and educational program administration. Lens Creek maintains a fully capable fabrication shop with broad capabilities in woodworking, metalwork, plastics, and other materials.
John Brock and Andre Torres are, along with Dave, co-owners of Golden Spike Artisans Group, a full-service model making and model railroad design and fabrication shop in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
We also work with a range of other researchers, designers, fabricators, business and marketing specialists, and consultants to bring projects to bear as needs arise.
